St Patrick’s Day Minty Shakes ~ Delicious, smooth Minty Shake which is perfect for St Patrick’s Day ~ with or without Liqueur ~ you decide !
After what seemed like forever, I finally found some Peppermint Essence again. Peppermint Concentrate to be exact and I can not be happier.
We had a shortage for just over a year and whenever our baking supply store got some in, it sold out in a flash.
First thing I made was these St Patrick’s Day Minty Shakes as I have been craving a Mint Shake for months now.
I am not a huge fan of the canned whipped cream, but I do prefer to use it to round off a drink. The canned (aerosol type) are much thinner than when I make my own whipped cream and it does look great.
You can adjust the Milk to your preference, a little more for a thinner Shake or less if you prefer a nice thick Shake.
Hubby likes it thinner, whereas I am sort of thick the one day, and thin the next day !
I also use both the Peppermint Concentrate (or Essence when available) and the Peppermint Liqueur which gives these Minty Shakes the kick they should really have on St Patrick’s Day.
Simply leave out the Liqueur for kids or if you prefer a non-alcoholic drink – you might want to increase the Concentrate/Essence in that case.
The amount of food coloring is also up to you, add 2 – 3 drops and increase by the drop until you are happy with the color. It could be light green through to a forest dark green.
