Santa’s Mojito

Santa’s Mojito is still a Mojito but with a festive look as well as taste ! This will become everyone’s favorite cocktail throughout the year.

Refreshing, easy to make and delicious.

Santa's Mojito

Mojito Cocktail is one of the oldest cocktails around.  The cocktail was invented by a Sir Francis Drake in the 1500’s already !

And it is still one of the most popular cocktails around.  Homemade or at restaurants.

Many people thinks the Mojito’s origin is Mexico, however it is actually Cuban !

Ingredients for a traditional Mojito :

The traditional Mojito recipe consists of White Rum, Sugar, Lime juice and Mint. All topped up with Soda Water or any plain Sparkling Water.

Personally, I prefer using Sparkling Water in a Mojito, but that is totally up to you.

Santa's Mojito

By adding a bit of Pomegranate juice, the Mojito Cocktail turns into a very festive tasting Cocktail.

Add to that the Pomegranate Arils (seeds) and Brew Glitter and Santa (as well as your guests!) would not be able to say no to this festive drink !

Just look at the shimmer provided by the Brew Glitter in the photo above – stunning !

Ingredients for four Santa’s Mojito Cocktails :

  • 2 tablespoons White Sugar
  • 3 Limes, juiced
  • Handful Mint Leaves, with Stalks
  • 1 cup White Rum, Malibu works just as great
  • 2 cups Crushed Ice
  • 2 cups Soda Water
  • 1 cup Pomegranate Juice, fresh or 100% bottled juice
  • 4 teaspoons Pomegranate Arils, (seeds)
  • 8 Lime Slices
  • Tiny pinch of Brew Glitter, edible glitter (optional)
  • Extra Mint sprigs, to serve

Helpful equipment to make a Mojito :

  • Cocktail Shaker – or you can use any container which is able to shake your Cocktail
  • Cocktail Muddler – or simply use the stick end of a wooden spoon to muddle (mix and bruise the ingredients)
  • To serve :  Definitely a straw, especially one with a spoon tip (or a separate spoon) – to dig out those deliciously soaked Pomegranate Arils (seeds)

Best Ice to use in a Mojito :

Definitely crushed or even as fine as a slushies Ice

  • Crushed from your refrigerator if you have the setting, or an ice crusher
  • Slushie Ice can be made either with your Slushie maker (if you have one), or use your blender – do however break the ice into smaller pieces if you do use your blender

Santa's Mojito

To make a Mojito Mocktail ( also known as a Virgin Mojito ) simply leave out the Rum. Should you want a Rum taste in the Mojito, add a little Rum Essence
