Santa Lane Lamp Post

Adorably cute Solar light Lamp Post, which I had changed up a bit and used what I had on hand ~ very easy and simple craft

I know most of you on Pinterest, if not everyone, must have seen the cute Dollar Store North Pole Street Light floating around all over the Internet. This is my attempt to create something similar, but I changed the name and made a Santa Lane Lamp Post.

The moment I’d seen it, I wanted one, as I think it is so adorably cute ! Problem.. mm, yes, I saw and pinned it, for the first time the day after Christmas last year – a bit late to have made one then, right?

But, I kept that one pin, not only on my Board to Make, but buried deep in my mind as well. The original craft can be found HERE on the Dollar Store website.

I have made mine a little different as firstly, I have never seen Christmas Solar Lights {like this one} in our stores. We sprayed all the black parts of a plain Solar Path Light red to begin with. Wrapped some white insulation tape around the pole and we’re almost there.

It was also a little easier to use a plastic Paper Binder as the “bracket” for the Sign – see above where we made a small cut into the plastic pole.

And simply inserted the Paper Binder which would pinch together the chains holding the Sign.

So far I have used the following to make the Santa Lane Lamp Post :

– a Cheap Solar Path Light
– Red Spray Paint
– White Insulation Tape
– a Piece of a Paper Binder

And to finish off as per the above photo :

– Small Christmas Tree Stickers
– Christmas Tag
– Bronze colored Letter for the SANTA LANE
– Punch hole re-inforcement Rings
– 2 Small pieces of Silver Chain

Everything in place – Stickers around the top of the Lamp, Santa Lane sign hung from the Paper Binder, using the small Silver Chains and I stuck the Lamp in a largish Candle Holder packed tightly with Cotton Wool balls.

A close up of the simple, easy Sign (if you want to use this outside, make a Sign with a piece of steel or waterproofed wood)

Another close-up – also for use outside, use vinyl stickers, or give it a couple of coats of clear varnish over Paper/Thin Cardboard stickers.

And finally, in it’s place. It looks magical at night with the Santa Lane Lamp Post shining, as well as the small glass Angel, which also has a flickering light. (No way I could get a decent shot of that!)

I have this new camera, and let me tell you, I think I need a University degree to use my new Nikon, because I have just been taking photos of food this far (which I am still royally battling with!) and obviously I still need lots of learning on how to shoot (especially!) indoors.
