Breakfast Burger has everything you need for a hearty breakfast or brunch starting with English Muffins, Bacon, Eggs and more !
Ever had a burger for breakfast ? No? How about for brunch ? We love a good well-built breakfast burger , or I should say for brunch as we normally have these on a Saturday morning at around 10 – 11am.
We also enjoy these breakfast burgers as an early dinner with some fries on the side, and now and then a small salad as well.
If you are wondering why I call it a breakfast burger – bacon, eggs aaanndd … english muffins !
That is just about all breakfast goodies and I would rather have these homemade ones than some from a restaurant, because homemade is better and much tastier.
It is also much, much cheaper to make them myself as I compared prices (based on 8 burgers) of those available at chain restaurants.
And the price difference is about 75% more expensive than what I can make my own for. Also take into account the fuel you waste on driving to the restaurant, only to get back with a lesser quality breakfast burger.
TIP: Keep the Onions and Patties warm after cooking – whilst the Bacon is being baked or fried, cook the Eggs – build the Burgers as the Eggs are ready if you do them in batches.

Breakfast Burger
Ingredients
- 8 English Muffins halved and toasted
- 2 Onions thinly sliced
- 2 TB Butter
- 8 Beef Patties homemade or store-bought
- 8 slices Gouda Cheese
- 24 slices Bacon
- 8 Eggs
- Salt and Black Pepper to taste
- Sriracha Sauce optional
Instructions
- Heat the Butter in a small pan – saute the Onion until soft – add the Brown Sugar – cook another minute or two, until caramelized
- Cook the Patties in which ever way you prefer – indoors I use my George Foreman grill or we use the outdoors grill (you can also pan-fry or oven bake them)
- Fry, bake the Bacon – oven bake at 200 deg C (400 deg F) for about 10 – 15 minutes, or pan-fry
- Cook the Eggs sunny-side-up to your preference ( I like the yolks soft and the white well done ) – season with Salt and Pepper
- Start building the Breakfast Burgers : slice of Tomato onto the bottom half of the toasted Muffin – caramelized Onions, Pattie, slice of Gouda Cheese, Bacon, Egg and Muffin top half
Notes
Serve immediately with Sriracha Sauce, if using.
