A Few years ago, Dalgona Coffee was all over the internet. How to make whipped Coffee ? Remember that ?

I did not jump on the wagon then, as it was just something which did not attract my tastebuds.

Add some Amarula Ethiopian Coffee and you have a divine Amarula Cocktail !  More my kind of Dalgona Coffee !

Delicious and ever so quick and easy to make.

Amarula Coffee Dalgona Cocktail

As Amarula is a South-African liqueur by origin, I keep a keen eye on their products as well as the Amarula website.

What is Amarula made of ?

Well, it is a cream based liqueur, so we have cream, sugar and the fruit of the Marula Tree.

If this is the first time you hear about Amarula Liqueur – not to worry !

Amarula Liqueur is now available in most countries and a quick Google search will give you the options on where to either buy it, or order online. (I am not an affiliate of Amarula, just absolutely LOVE their Liqueurs).

Of all the Dalgona Coffee recipes I have seen to date, they all look like Cocktails !

Amarula Coffee Dalgona Cocktail

If you have the Amarula Ethiopian Coffee Liqueur on hand already, you are minutes away from a delicious after dinner cocktail !

Ingredients of an Amarula Coffee Dalgona Cocktail :

(full recipe and instructions in printable recipe card below)
  • Amarula Ethiopian Coffee Liqueur
  • Milk – you can use any milk you prefer ! Soya Milk, Nut Milk, Lactose-Free Milk, Whole Milk or Fat-Free Milk, Oat Milk and the list goes on – as long as the Milk goes with Coffee, use it !
  • Ice – cubes or crushed (although crushed would make the Cocktail watery very soon)
  • Instant Coffee Powder – again, any Coffee you prefer
  • White Sugar
  • Boiling Water

Use Amarula Ethiopian Coffee Liqueur or substitute with any Coffee based Liqueur, if you do not have the Amarula on hand or simply prefer something like Kahlua.

Amarula Coffee Dalgona Cocktail (Metal Straw and Spoon)

I serve the Amarula Coffee Dalgona Cocktails in short glasses with a Metal straw-and-spoon which really helps with mixing the whipped Coffee and the Milk/Amarula mixture.

We found these perfect straw-and-spoon sets at an outdoor store, but they might be available in supermarkets as well.
