5 Minute Avocado Dip or Dressing is so creamy and ready in 5 minutes – the DIP can be used not only as a dip, but on burgers, chicken and more
I do like recipes with more than one use and this 5 minute Avocado Dip or Dressing is perfect and as we are all Avocado freaks, anything Avo is always welcome as well.
Looking at the ingredients it is just a plain old guacamole, less chunkier than most, but I still prefer to refer to this recipe as mainly a dip. Add a little more Sour Cream and Olive Oil and you have a delicious dressing which goes with almost any kind of salad.
I served the Avocado as a dip, with various savory crackers, cheeses, as a sauce over burgers, and even covered some grilled chicken with it. Absolutely so versatile, and even though the Cilantro add some taste (and a few speckles !), it is most definitely the right balance.
The night we had the grilled chicken with the Avocado Dip (or sauce, if you prefer), I had quite a bit leftover as I made double the batch – totally misjudged the quantity I needed.
Anyhow, I kept the leftover in a well sealed container and the following night we had, as a side, a simple crunchy salad.
As I was about to drizzle over some store-bought dressing, I remembered the Avocado Dip in the refrigerator, and decided to take a chance by adding a little more Sour Cream and some Olive Oil to thin the Dip into a Dressing.
The salad turned out delicious ! Way more than it would have with the store-bought stuff and it took me only about a minute to add and mix in the extra ingredients.
Best of all, none had gone to waste, which is definitely a bonus nowadays, with the high prices of fresh produce, and pantry ingredients in general. Waste not … want not, hey ?

Notes
Use immediately or keep chilled in a sealed container for about 2 hours (dip) and up to 2 days for the dressing.
Serve the dip with any kind of salty crackers or cheese wedges – also great on burgers instead of a sauce. The dressing does not have a too powerful flavor and would go perfect with just about any salad.
