Small Red, Green and Gold centerpiece, which means you can have several on your Christmas dining table without them being in the way, yet creating a lovely atmosphere
I found these super cute gel candle stars the other day at the store. These Floating Candles Decor for Christmas is just another quick (and inexpensive!) color scheme I am working on as I am still not sure whether we will only have a small Christmas breakfast or none at all and going to a restaurant for lunch.
Anyhow, whichever way we decide, I love Christmas time and playing around with decor ideas is quite a bit of fun.
I do not think we will decorate the house on a big scale, but I am working on just a little thing I want to hang on the wall where it will be seen as you enter the front door into the living room. (by working on, I mean the idea is there – still have to make !)
Floating Candles Decor For Christmas
The pack of gel candles I picked up has 6 different colors – one of each.
I used a small vase (about a whiskey glass height), filled with water and placed the gel candle on top. It kept floating which is great as some of these so-called floating candles immediately drops to the bottom.
What I like most of the candle – the lightest of light breezes make it move around in the glass creating the prettiest flame display. Not too much moving though, the flame kept burning.
I used an old candle wreath-like decoration and wrapped it around the bottom of the glass vase.
The decoration is small enough to place a few on a dining table, without being in the way or add to much height. I really do not like something in the way when I sit across from someone and can not see them when we chat.
I noticed, restaurants especially, like to place a tall something or other in the center of a table and one needs to strain your neck to see the person across from you … might be that the restaurants think the patrons are there to eat and that’s it.
What do you think of a red, green and gold Christmas color scheme ? And what are your colors for this year? Last year ours were blue, white and silver – minimally done as you can see.
